Living with noticeable hair loss is no longer to be expected due to the incredible developments that have been made in the treatment of men’s hair loss. With the introduction of Propecia, generic name Finasteride, it is now possible to stop or slow down the progression of hair loss in the majority of men who use it.
Fifty percent of all men experience male-patterned baldness; the most common type of hair loss beginning around the age of thirty.
It generally starts as a receding hairline; a thinning of hair on the crown and temples; resulting in a U-shape pattern around the head. In some rare cases, a male may end up completely bald.
The condition is genetic; caused by an abundance of the male hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which causes the hair follicles to become weak and eventually inactive, resulting in a lack of hair re-growth. This process can take decades, so if you have experienced rapid hair loss (under a year) or scalp irritation causing bald patches, you should seek medical advice from your GP to ensure there are no underlying thyroid conditions or other reasons for the condition.
One of the most effective treatments for general hair loss is finasteride, which prevents further hair loss and increases hair growth.

Hi there,
I am currently using Finasteride as I am not an anorexia sufferer and will be taking it for a month before going on my hair loss journey. I am now feeling a bit more confident and feel much more relaxed and happy with my hair, but I have started taking it on the off, as I thought I would need to go on a daily dose of Propecia (which I am on now).
How long will I be taking it?
I will be taking Propecia (Finasteride) for about a week after starting this treatment. I feel really lucky that I don't need to take it on the off. However, I know that I am not alone in my experience with this type of medication. I have noticed a difference in the hair growth effects of Propecia in my system. I am hoping that it will be more of a blessing for me, but I also do not want to lose any more hair than I have gained so that I can continue to use it for a month or two after my treatment.
Thanks in advance.
P. S. I have not noticed any changes to my hair for a while now. Anybody else experiencing the same?I was prescribed Propecia as well.Thank you in advance for this information. I hope this information helps. I am taking Finasteride and would like to learn more about it. I am not seeing any changes. I also don't have any concerns about taking the medication. Also, I have been told that there are no side effects from taking Propecia but the information I have found online is really good and that the benefits of this medication are still being researched and discussed in my office. I also would like to know if I should be taking the medication off my own advice and how I should be getting it for my hair. I am also considering taking the Propecia as I am on a long term dose so I don't think I will need to change anything. I hope you have the answers.
I am on Finasteride and have started taking it a couple of days after a change to Propecia. I have started to notice that I am not getting a lot of hair loss after the change. I have noticed a slight decrease in hair growth on the top and bottom of my scalp. I also notice that my hair is starting to grow again. I am not seeing any difference in my hair or scalp as I am only taking a low dose of Finasteride and I can see the difference in my results.
Thank you!
The Propecia has been approved to be used by the US FDA and the USPIRB in the European Union. It is available as a prescription and is FDA approved. As for the Propecia, it is an off label drug and will only be sold under the brand name Propecia. Thanks again for your help!
I feel a little better now. I am planning on continuing to use it for a few more months now. I am also considering switching to finasteride because of the effects on the body and I don't want to feel any more uncomfortable or put off the potential side effects of the medication.I am on Finasteride for about a week after starting this treatment. My only concern is that the side effects will continue to occur after I stop taking the medication. I also have noticed a slight reduction in the hair loss in my hairline, which is a concern I have had with the treatment.I hope you have more info on what is happening with Propecia. My advice to you is to use Finasteride as well. It will not stop you getting more hair from your follicles. You can continue to use it, but it will take some time before any effect will be noticeable and the side effects will continue to occur after you stop using it.
I am doing the best to try to keep up with my hair growth habits and have more hair in my head. I am planning to start using Finasteride at the end of the year. If I can start using it again and keep taking the Propecia, I plan to keep seeing changes in my hair.
